PUBLIC HEARING OF CANDIDATES FOR THE POSITION OF DEPUTY OMBUDSMAN
8 July 2020 – In line with the principles of good and transparent governance, the Ombudsman Diana Kovacheva convened a public hearing of the two nominated candidates for the position of Deputy Ombudsman – Mr. Milko Nedyalkov and Ms. Elena Cherneva-Markova.

PROCEDURE FOR THE NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES FOR DEPUTY OMBUDSMAN

The Ombudsman announces a procedure for the nomination of candidates for the post of Deputy Ombudsman in accordance with the Rules of Procedure for the nomination, submission, public disclosure, hearing and evaluation of candidates for the post of Deputy Ombudsman.
Proposals for candidates for Deputy Ombudsman shall be submitted by non-profit legal entities for public benefit, the object of which is the protection of human rights. Proposals shall be submitted in writing to the Ombudsman's administration at Sofia, 22 George Washington Str. or by e-mail to ombudsman@ombudsman.bg within 7 (seven) days from the day of publication of the Rules of Procedure on the official website of the Ombudsman www.ombudsman.bg.

In the course of the procedure for nomination of Deputy Ombudsman until the deadline of 1 July 2020, the Registry of the institution received three proposals for candidates from non-profit legal entities for public benefit, one of which was subsequently withdrawn.
