“It is my honor and privilege, on behalf of the Ombudsman Institution, to greet the governing body and you, the students, of the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy, on the occasion of the Academy Day.” These were the words of the official greetings of Deputy Ombudsman Maria Filipova to the NSA academic staff and students.
She emphasized that the NSA is the only higher educational institution in Bulgaria to provide specialized sports education of an exceptionally high academic standard. She pointed out that in the course of more than eight decades of development – from the State Higher School of Physical Education to today’s National Sports Academy – the institution has gained the reputation of a prestigious university with internationally recognized certificates and proven high quality of professional training.
“The NSA graduates can easily meet all the challenges of our time with analytical and conscious thinking and approach, owing to the highly qualified staff of scientists and instructors,” Maria Filipova noted.
The Deputy Ombudsman emphasized the significant contribution of the distinguished athletes and eminent Bulgarian coaches who are NSA graduates and made Bulgaria famous at the most prestigious world sports events. She drew attention to the fact that these achievements are a clear sign of the effectiveness, traditions and reputation of the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy.
“Continue to work as diligently to bring prestige for the Academy and make it the first national center for sports sciences,” Maria Filipova said in her address of greetings.
In conclusion she wished the NSA governing body, training staff and students good health, wellbeing, inspiration and many more personal and career achievements while she emphasized that the achievements will be not only for all Bulgaria but for the entire sports community worldwide.
On behalf of the NSA Maria Filipova was invited to present one of the awards for high sports achievements and excellent grades to Stanislava Sarandeva from the fourth grade, majoring in swimming, who received a grant worth BGN 2,500 provided by the Bulgarian Golf Association.
