Access to Information (Access to Public Information Act)

Procedure for granting access:

The Reception-Room and Registry Directorate of the Ombudsman Institution is the administrative unit responsible for receiving applications for access to public information under the the Access to Public Information Act and for delivering information on a decision issued by the Ombudsman on a specific application.

Applications for access to public information shall be lodged as follows: in-person at the Reception-Room and Registry Directorate every working day from 09:00hrs to 17:00hrs at the following address: 22 George Washington Street, Sofia; by post; or via email at: priemna@ombudsman.bg

On the basis of Article 7, par. 7.3 of the Rules of Procedure of the Ombudsman Institution  "persons who have addressed complaints and alerts to the Ombudsman shall have the right to access to correspondence between the Ombudsman and other bodies or persons in relation to their complaints and alerts in accordance with the Access to Public Information Act".
