The price and quality of water, high heating bills, retirement benefits, the lack of an accessible environment for people with disabilities - these are only a small part of the problems which citizens from Pleven and the region presented at the reception room of the Ombudsman, which was held in the building of Pleven Regional Administration.
“A lot of complaints concern the price of water and the water regime in Pleven. We've been informed of incorrectly notified hours for the water regime, and of frequent accidents. People are also reporting poor water quality in some settlements in the region such as the town of Trastenik, the villages of Gorna Mitropolia, Bregare, Stezharovo, Dolni Lukovit, Ruptsi, etc.”, summarized the Chief Secretary of the Ombudsman Aysun Avdzhiev.
He told journalists that the Ombudsman's institution also receives many complaints from prisoners in the prisons of Pleven and Belene due to poor conditions.
Avdzhiev informed that, in addition to reception days, complaints and reports of irregularities to the Ombudsman could also be submitted on the institution's website, which was optimized and easy to use. A special section is set aside for children and people with disabilities.
“In this way, we are closer to citizens, we can respond to their signals more quickly, send requests to other institutions regarding people's reports,” Avdzhiev pointed out.
He also specified that, on average, between 50 and 100 complaints were received per day from all over the country, and the response to one complaint was within about a month, but this period also depended on the assistance provided by the institution to which the report was directed.
