The Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, Velislava Delcheva, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkiye to Bulgaria, H.E. Mehmet Sait Uyanik.
During the meeting, Ombudsman Delcheva outlined the institution’s key priorities regarding the protection of the rights of vulnerable groups—children and the elderly—as well as consumer rights.
Ambassador Uyanik noted that his professional experience included topics related to the protection of human rights, which provided a good foundation for constructive dialogue and the exchange of best practices between the institutions.
During the meeting, the good economic relations between Bulgaria and Turkiye were also discussed, as well as the active tourism exchange between the two countries. It was noted that every year many Bulgarian citizens chose Turkiye as their preferred tourist destination, and that an increasing number of Turkish citizens were visiting Bulgaria, including for winter tourism.
