“The quality and price of water are the most common problems of the people of Dobrich region”. Nina Boyadzhieva, head of the Rights of Users of Administrative and Public Services department at the institution of the public defender stated this at the reception room held in the building of Dobrich Regional Administration.
“The opinion of the Ombudsman is that the price of water in Dobrich region should not be increased,” said Boyadzhieva at a press briefing and added that from next year the water price in Dobrich would rise by 16.12%.
“The problems are deepening as complaints about the power supply have also increased. The Ombudsman has reasonable doubts that not only the bad weather but also the poorly maintained network are the reason why people have been without electricity in some settlements for five days and nights,” stressed Nina Boyadzhieva.
“The Ombudsman is adamant that companies should pay fair compensation ex officio and should not wait for consumers to submit applications for this”, said Boyadzhieva and informed that people could submit complaints and reports via the public defender's website, where there is a special section for complaints from children.
The other problems found on the spot from the complaints in Dobrich are related to violated pension rights, children's rights and TELK decisions.
